Job Description

Organization Overview: Sheltering Arms strengthens the education, wellbeing, and development of high-need children, adults, and families across the New York metro area. We serve nearly 20,000 people a year from the South Bronx to Far Rockaway. We provide services in every borough except Staten Island. Our programs include foster care, juvenile justice, early childhood education, community mental health services, and developmental disability services to adults, youth centers and safe homes, and preventative services. One of the many Sheltering Arms services is to provide care for children in foster care and juvenile justice. The Sheltering Arms Health Services clinic is a centralized medical home in the South Bronx that provides and coordinates comprehensive, trauma informed, and evidence based medical, mental health, and dental care for all of the children placed in our foster care and juvenile justice programs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Job Summary: We are currently seeking Psychiatrist to provide support to our mental health services team in our Bronx Mental Health Clinic.

Hours Per Week: 8 hours/week. Flexible schedule.

$150/hour set payment

Location: Bronx, NY

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct Psychiatric evaluations
  • Conduct Medication management appointments
  • Review and sign TX plans and medical records
  • Work in collaboration with medical and social work teams
  • Enter data into EMR
  • Enter data as needed into I-Stop


  • The ideal individual is somebody who is experienced in working both with adults and children. Spanish-Speaking a plus-but not required
  • Board-Certified
