Sheltering Arms is seeking a Home Visitor for our Early Head Start program. The Home Visitor will provide home-based support to expecting mothers and families involved in out EHS program. This is a full time position based in the Bronx.

Essential Functions

  • Provide home-based support to expectant mothers and parents in their role as primary caregiver of their child; Develop and plan activities for children that will support their optimal growth and enhance the relationship between parent and child; Conduct Family Partnership Agreement and Family Engagement Activities; Organize and facilitate parent-child socialization groups
  • Monitor children s developmental progress; Coordinate medical and other community-based services that will offer comprehensive support to children and their families
  • Maintain accurate case records to meet Early Head Start Standards
  • Perform other duties as delegated

Qualifications

  • Home-based Child Development Associate
  • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Previous experience with prenatal education and children aged 0-3 years and their families
